Yossi.co
A highly unconventional, artistic e-commerce experience that breaks the mold of standard templates. The UI mimics a retro computer file system, providing a unique, immersive brand experience for the Yossi Co brand. The storefront opens through a branded enter screen, keeps a floating music player running as you browse, and stages products across full-width video sections with a custom cart drawer handling checkout.

The client wanted to stand out in a saturated fashion market. Standard e-commerce templates felt too sterile and didn't reflect the brand's avant-garde identity.

Technical deep-dive
To achieve the "desktop OS" feel within Shopify's constraints, we utilized the HTML5 Drag and Drop API combined with GSAP for smooth window movement. We implemented a custom AJAX cart and page transition system that fetches HTML fragments, parsing them to update the DOM without a full page reload. This preserves the "OS state" (open windows, position) while navigating between collections.

Growth and SEO
Despite the heavy visual experimentation, we maintained strict semantic HTML5 structure for screen readers and crawlers. We used canonical tags to prevent duplicate content issues often found in SPA-like architectures. Image optimization (WebP conversion, lazy loading) ensured that the "heavy" visual style didn't penalize Core Web Vitals scores.
