A security firm, three counties, and the searches that actually buy

Golani Security is an enterprise security firm in South Florida. They were not appearing for the searches that bring commercial work. They now rank on the first page for security guard services across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, and they say commercial contracts are up 25%.

Where that number comes from

The client wrote it in their own public Google review, and you can go and read it. It is the only outcome claim in this post. There is no traffic percentage here, because I do not have a figure for that I could show you the origin of, and a number I cannot source is not evidence.

Where it started

Visibility

Not appearing for the searches that bring commercial security work.

Site

A template that treated every service the same, so no page was about anything specific.

Coverage

One business, three counties, and nothing on the site that said so.

Leads

Arriving by email with no routing, so speed of response depended on who checked inbox first.

What was built

A page per vertical, because they are different searches

Construction site security, retail loss prevention, event security and residential patrol are not one service with four names. Someone searching for one of them is not looking for a generic security company, they are looking for the company that does that. One page each, each written about that work specifically.

Three counties, said explicitly

Golani covers Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach. A site that never names its service area asks Google to infer it, and Google infers conservatively. Coverage is now stated in the content, in the structured data, and on the pages where someone in Broward would actually land.

Hand-coded, no page builder

A builder-produced page carries the weight of the builder. On a site whose competitors are mostly template installs, being the fast one is a real advantage rather than a vanity metric, because the map pack is mostly phones on cellular connections.

HubSpot on the form, so leads route on arrival

A lead lands in the right pipeline the moment it is submitted, rather than in an inbox waiting to be sorted. The gain is not the CRM, it is the minutes: an enquiry for construction site cover reaches the person who quotes that work without a handoff.

Cloudflare in front of it

Caching and a sane security posture, so the site stays up and fast without anyone maintaining a server.

The part that transfers

None of the below is specific to security. It is the reasoning behind the build, and it holds for any service business selling into more than one county.

  1. 01

Rank for the job, not the industry

Most security companies optimise for "security company". The money is in "construction site security" and "event security guards", because those are the searches a buyer makes when they have a specific problem and a budget.

  2. 02

    One page per intent

If two searches would be answered differently, they need two pages. A single page trying to serve both ranks for neither, because it cannot be the best answer to either question.

  3. 03

Name the service area in words

Three counties is a fact about the business. If it only exists in the owner’s head, it does not exist to a search engine.

  4. 04

Speed is a local ranking input, not a nice-to-have

Local intent is overwhelmingly mobile. A site that takes four seconds on a cellular connection loses people before it gets the chance to rank badly.

  5. 05

Route the lead before you optimise the ad

Ranking better only helps if the enquiry reaches someone quickly. Most of the value in this build was in the ten minutes after the form, not the ten places above it in the results.

What I am not claiming

I am not telling you this took a specific number of weeks, or moved traffic by a specific percentage, or that it will do the same for you. I know the rankings moved and I know what the client said about their contracts, because they said it publicly. Everything past that would be me filling in a number to make the story rounder.

This post replaced two on this site that did not hold that line. Both invented client results, and one described managing thousands a month in ad spend at a point when none had ever been managed. They are gone, and this is what belongs there instead.
