Blast Bags
A real-money commerce platform built for Bhurst Entertainment. Blast Bags sells sealed Pokemon rip packs with published odds and a guaranteed floor value on every pack. Buyers open packs through an animated slide-to-rip reveal, hold cards in a vault, sell back instantly for store credit, or ship the physical cards home. A full admin ops suite runs fulfillment, store credit, and tier management. A native SwiftUI iOS app puts the live-break broadcast dashboard, storefront, vault, and rewards on the same backend.
01
The challenge
Rip-pack commerce runs on trust, and buyers usually get none. They cannot verify the odds behind a sealed pack or confirm what a pull is worth. Bhurst Entertainment needed a real-money platform where the math is public and the money handling is provably correct.
02
The solution
Built a commerce platform where every pack carries published, versioned odds and a guaranteed floor value. Money movement is server-authoritative end to end: checkout is idempotent, and webhook-race guards make sure a charged buyer never lands on an empty vault. Storefront, reveal, vault, buyback, shipping, and admin ops run on one backend, with a native SwiftUI iOS app on the same data.
03
How it was built
- 01 One backend serves the web storefront and the native iOS app
- 02 Storefront, slide-to-rip reveal, vault, buyback, and shipping built as a single commerce loop
- 03 Admin ops suite covers fulfillment, store credit, and tier management
- 04 Money-correctness engineering: idempotent checkout, webhook-race guards, server-authoritative balances

Outcomes
| No. | Result |
|---|---|
| 01 | 11 pack tiers live in the storefront with published odds |
| 02 | Native 5-tab iOS app spanning broadcast dashboard, storefront, vault, and rewards |
| 03 | 99 unit tests on the iOS target |
| 04 | 20-task audit campaign closed with adversarial review on every fix |
